Bookmobile Hours
Hours may vary for special events. Follow our Facebook page for updates on the Bookmobile’s schedule.
The Fall River Public Library Bookmobile began service on February 28, 2024. The new Bookmobile was made possible by American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding. The Bookmobile will visit Fall River schools on a rotating basis, alternating with senior centers, parks, and other locations. The Bookmobile’s standard hours are:
Monday through Thursday: 8 am – 3:30 pm
Friday: 9 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.
The Fall River Public Library, located at 104 North Main Street, was founded in 1861 and began operations at the 104 North Main Street location in 1899.
The Bookmobile, opened in 2024, operates as a mobile branch and visits schools, senior centers, parks, and housing developments and takes part in special events.
A Little Free Library is located on the front lawn of the library for anyone to “take a book, leave a book.”
The East Branch, formerly located on Pleasant Street, was opened in the 1970s and closed in 2015.
The South Branch was founded in 1966, was formerly located on South Main Street, and moved to 58 Arch Street for a larger, more accessible building in 2014. Unfortunately, the library’s lease on the building was not renewed, and the South Branch closed its doors on December 18, 2020. The South Branch staff have joined us at the Main Library.
